1. Introduction
amberDNA, a trading name of [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] ("amberDNA", "we", "us"), is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and our supply chains. We do not tolerate slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, or human trafficking in any form.
This statement sets out the steps we have taken during the financial year ending [DATE] and is published [voluntarily / in accordance with section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015].
2. Our business
amberDNA is a managed service provider based in [CITY, COUNTRY]. We provide managed backup, business continuity and disaster recovery services to business customers. We have [NUMBER] employees, all based in [COUNTRY].
3. Our supply chain
Our main suppliers are:
- Technology vendors that provide the backup software, appliances and cloud infrastructure we manage for customers
- Hardware distributors that supply on-site backup appliances
- Cloud and software-as-a-service providers that we use to run our business
- Professional services such as accountants, legal advisers and contractors
We consider the main risk of modern slavery in our supply chain to be in the manufacture of electronic hardware, where components are sourced globally. Our direct operations, which are office-based professional services, are considered low risk.
4. Our policies
Our approach is supported by the following policies: [LIST POLICIES, FOR EXAMPLE: Code of Conduct, Whistleblowing Policy, Recruitment Policy, Supplier Code of Conduct, Anti-Bribery Policy].
- We carry out right-to-work checks on everyone we employ.
- We pay all staff at least the [National Living Wage / Real Living Wage].
- Staff can raise concerns confidentially under our whistleblowing policy without fear of reprisal.
5. Due diligence and risk assessment
We aim to work with established suppliers that publish their own modern slavery statements or equivalent commitments. For new and existing suppliers we:
- Review whether they publish a modern slavery statement or have equivalent policies
- Include requirements to comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 in our contracts where possible
- Prioritise suppliers in higher-risk sectors, such as electronics manufacturing, for further review
6. Training
[DESCRIBE TRAINING, FOR EXAMPLE: all staff receive guidance on recognising the signs of modern slavery and how to report concerns as part of their induction.]
7. Measuring effectiveness
We will review the effectiveness of these steps each year by tracking:
- The proportion of key suppliers whose modern slavery commitments we have reviewed
- Staff completion of relevant training
- Any concerns reported and how they were resolved
8. Next steps
In the coming year we plan to [DESCRIBE PLANNED ACTIONS, FOR EXAMPLE: introduce a supplier code of conduct and extend our review to all hardware suppliers].
